4-Day Eastern Canada Highlights Tour

In the early morning, we will depart from Toronto on a luxurious tour bus, accompanied by our knowledgeable Chinese-speaking tour guide. Our first destination is the scenic area of Thousand Islands, where we'll experience the charm of one of Canada's three natural wonders, the "Thousand Islands." We'll embark on a delightful "Thousand Islands Sightseeing Cruise" (approximately 1 hour) to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the region. After a satisfying lunch, we'll head to the picturesque town of Upper Canada Village. Upper Canada Village preserves the customs and traditions of the Victorian era, creating an idyllic village surrounded by lush greenery. This historic site offers a glimpse into the rural life of Canada in the 1860s. Throughout the village, you'll encounter interpreters dressed in period clothing, gardens adorned with flowers and trees, and fields with crops and fruit trees, all coming together to paint a vivid picture of 19th-century Canadian rural life. Later, we will proceed to Montreal, often referred to as the "Little Paris of North America." We'll visit the magnificent Notre-Dame Basilica (exterior), where the famous Canadian singer Celine Dion's wedding was held - a sister church of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. In Montreal's charming Old Town, you will be captivated by the blend of grand and simple architectural styles, harmoniously intertwined with a mix of old and new European influences. You can truly sense the allure of Paris's Champs-Élysées and the deep-rooted impact of French culture here. After indulging in a sumptuous dinner, we will check into our hotel for a comfortable stay. After breakfast, we will visit the largest and most famous church in North America, the Saint Joseph's Oratory, known for its solemn and grandeur architecture. This magnificent church is the world's second-largest dome church and one of Quebec's three major religious pilgrimage sites. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Royal before heading to the Maple Sugar Estate in Three Rivers, where you'll learn about the process of maple syrup collection and production. Additionally, savor a traditional French-style lunch on the estate (if the Maple Sugar Estate is closed, an alternative lunch venue will be provided), creating a warm and festive atmosphere. Next, we'll travel to Canada's oldest city and the only North American city with preserved city walls - the UNESCO World Heritage site, Quebec City. Firstly, we'll ascend to the 31st-floor observatory of the Marie-Guyart Building, offering panoramic views of Quebec City and the site of the intense battles during the colonial wars between the British and French. Our knowledgeable guide will narrate the thrilling historical stories of those times. Following that, we'll enter the charming Old Town of Quebec. Perched on a cliff, this North American city boasts the only completely preserved city walls. Within the city, you'll find numerous old churches, monasteries, historic landmarks like the Artillery Park, the charming Place d'Armes square, Quebec Provincial Parliament Building, and famous historical buildings including the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac and the Citadel of Quebec. The architecture of the Old Town emanates a unique French flair and stands as an excellent representation of a colonial fortress city. In the evening, embrace the romantic ambiance while enjoying a French-style dinner. The Old Town exudes an elegant and sophisticated charm, and wandering through it feels like being in Europe. After breakfast, we'll head to one of Montreal's popular attractions, the Old Port. Here, we can take a ride on the "Le Grande Roue" Ferris wheel to enjoy a panoramic view of Montreal. The Ferris wheel, located not far from Place Jacques-Cartier, was established to celebrate Montreal's 375th anniversary. From this 60-meter-high slow rotating wheel, visitors can revel in extraordinary views that extend up to 28 kilometers, encompassing Montreal and its surrounding areas. Following lunch, we'll proceed to the renowned "Eastern Small Class F" - the Emerald Lake Lodge Resort. This charming village of Emerald Lake is brimming with French architectural charm, transporting you to a European-style ancient town. The resort is built along the mountainside, and you can take a cable car from the foot of the mountain to reach the highest peak in Eastern Canada, "Camel's Hump," which stands at 3,300 feet. The cable car ride consists of two segments: the first one takes you to the halfway point of the amusement center in an open-air car. As the cable car slowly ascends, passing by the soothing sound of fountains, the entire resort unfolds below, showcasing its colorful and picturesque rooftops. Once at the halfway station, you can board a closed cable car to reach Camel's Hump directly. As the cable car ascends even higher, you'll be able to peer through the windows and admire lush forests, white nameless wildflowers cascading down the mountain slopes like blankets, and the distant, winding mountain ranges and lakes, creating a breathtaking view of lakes and mountains. From the mountaintop, you'll have a spectacular view that dwarfs the surrounding hills. In the morning, we will leave Fairmont Le Château Montebello and head to the Canadian capital, Ottawa. On the way, we'll pass through the elegant and charming Embassy Village and the political focal point, the Prime Minister's residence, along with the picturesque Rideau Canal, evoking a sense of nostalgia and tranquility. Next, we'll visit the masterpiece of sculptural art, the Parliament Hill (exterior), which overlooks the beautiful Ottawa River. Here, you'll see the imposing National War Memorial and the grand Peace Tower. Following that, we'll proceed to visit the fascinating Canadian Museum of History, where we'll walk through the newly designed "Time Tunnel" to explore the 10,000-year history of human development and the formation of Canada's multicultural heritage. You'll gain insights into the historical and cultural evolution of the Canadian people. We'll also visit the Canadian War Museum, one of the three most important war art collections in the world. You'll learn about the harsh realities of war and explore the Cold Weapons Display (including UN United Nations tanks, Tiger tanks, Leopard tanks, and more). After lunch, we'll pass through the historic city of Kingston, where we'll enjoy a city tour that includes viewing the Old Parliament Building (currently the City Hall), an 18th-century British-style lighthouse, the oldest east-west locomotive, and impressive sites like the opulent Penitentiary, the first Prime Minister's residence, and Queen's University, Canada's only Royal Military College, and more. Finally, we'll return to Toronto, concluding our delightful journey.
